Magellan®, a leader in GPS navigation, announced today that its navigation app for connected cars will be available in five 2018 Subaru models: Forester, Outback, Legacy, Crosstrek, and WRX via the SUBARU STARLINK™ Multimedia system. Magellan Navi brings powerful GPS satellite navigation features, the latest maps, and routing accuracy to drivers by seamlessly connecting the smartphone app to the car’s infotainment display. Magellan Navi is a featured app in the SUBARU STARLINK app, which can be downloaded from Apple App Store and Google Play.
Magellan Navi will connect to the models via the head-unit display via Bluetooth or USB to deliver a voice-guided full navigation experience with lane guidance, millions of Points of Interest (POI), and more. A simplified, easy-to-use interface is designed to promote distraction-free driving.
“We are honored to be included in these Subaru models in 2018,” commented Lonnie Arima, General Manager and Vice President of Automotive for Magellan. “Last year we introduced our Navi app in the 2017 Impreza and BRZ models and it was so successful for drivers, Subaru extended it to additional vehicles. We are thrilled to partner with Subaru in bringing best-in-class connectivity features to today’s drivers.”
“Adding Magellan Navi on to the SUBARU STARLINK platform for these models will give Subaru drivers the latest mapping information available, along with a quick and easy navigation experience that promotes safe, hands-free driving. Subaru drivers have come to expect outstanding quality and they won’t be disappointed with Magellan Navi as a part of our SUBARU STARLINK platform,” said Anthony Landamia, Manager, Infotainment Products for Subaru.
