Magellan Demonstrating New Android Fleet Navigator at Connected Fleet show

Magellan will be exhibiting at Connected Fleet show in Atlanta on November 20-21.  We’ll be demonstrating Magellan’s RoadMate RC9496T-LMB fleet & truck navigation device.  The RC9496T-LMB is a 7″ Android GPS truck navigation device with an HD multi-touch capacitive glass display.  It provides advanced fleet navigation and protocol support, including Hours of Service/Log Book at the device and server level (HOS), and Automatic On-Board Recording Device (AOBRD) capabilities. The unit is fleet ready with two-way messaging, itinerary updating, and multi-destination routing capabilities.

The RC9496T-LMB includes a Micro-SD slot, GPS baseband and antenna, AV-in connection for a rear back-up camera, low-energy Bluetooth™ 4.0, and WiFi connectivity. Additionally, the device includes features that are designed to make navigating a fleet vehicle easy and safe.  This includes customizable truck routing, which is based on the vehicle’s dimensions and hazmat restrictions.  It also includes landmark guidance, junction view and highway lane assist features.

The supplemental Magellan Fleet Manager, launching in Q1 2015, is a desktop tool that enables central office management of bulk software and map updates, and bulk device registration.   In addition, time and money saving content sourced from the Magellan SmartGPS Eco cloud provides truckers and fleet managers with real-time, local information on fuel pricing, weather (including five-day forecast and overlays), and IP traffic.
